The Encyclopedia of Earth

Cynthia Barakatt, Director of Content Development for Encyclopedia of Earth, has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of communications and the environment. A former journalist, she has worked as a communications specialist for two state environmental agencies and a large international environmental consulting firm, and served as an administrator for a university-based environmental research and education center. Prior to joining the EoE, Cynthia served as the Director of Training and Fellowships for the Stanford-based Aldo Leopold Leadership Program. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from California Polytechnic State University and a master's degree in environmental studies from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
